Cofy is a middle-aged gentleman originally from West Africa but now domiciled with his family in the United States. Growing up in Ghana, West Africa he was introduced to poetry in elementary school. The love for poetry was then born in him. His first poem was a joint collaboration with a classmate for a school project when he was in third grade and about 8 years old.
He has had the opportunity to perform some of his poetry and that of others when he was in College and a member of the Literary Club to student audiences. He has also featured his work on radio in an erstwhile program of GBC (Ghana Broadcasting Corporation) titled “Voices of our time”.
Over the years he has produced a steady stream of poetry which touches on his different life experiences and interests which span travel, sports, politics, religion, human sentiments, current affairs etc. To him the poet is basically an artist who paints reality with words to produce color and imagery.
Cofy speaks fluent French and passable Spanish. He is also a translator.
